Flower fix up

I have a very.....creative....2 year old. He got so creative that he got out a bottle of Ranch dressing from the fridge, and poured it all over behind my rocking chair, on the carpet, ottomans, and on one of my favorite (artificial) potted plants. I had to throw the plant away, cause I was not about to clean each little crevice on each little leaf. So I pulled out the plant part, and cleaned up the pot so I could use it later. I went to the dollar store and got some fake flowers and popped them in the floral foam, and you've got a whole different look!
My Easter/Spring window sill. I'm in the process of buying my first home- an old fixer upper:) and I made the letters "imagine" for my kids' playroom...more to come on that, but I love my flowers in the middle of it all!
My flowers as the centerpiece on my new adorable dining set!

Halloween Decorations...a little late.

A cute broom I found for a buck, and a pre-arranged flower bouquet for a buck. Throw it together, and you've got an adorable Fall decoration!
My front door, with the little "trick or treat" sign I made with vinyl lettering, scrapbook paper, wood and ribbon.
And the pumpkins that my little boy just HAD to have!:)

My thumb ain't green.

I got my husband this herb kit for Christmas last year. I even cut out vinyl with each of the herbs names to stick on the pots. Super cute, right? (We were both really excited about it at the time.) Well, I think we both suck at watering them, or making them grow, cause they didn't. I mean, they sprouted, but then we didn't know what to do with them. Oh, you cook with these things?? Ya, didn't do that. So, they died. And a piece of my heart died with it. So, I dug up these herbs...or what was left of them, and threw them away. Then I got some florist foam from the dollar store, and stuck it in the bottom of the pots. And I just shoved some artificial plants in there. And now it looks like I am oh so green, and grow my own plants. Ha!And this is the finished "fake out" herb arrangement. I put some artificial yellow pears by them too, just for a pop of color. And I must say, this is a major improvement to my dead window sill display before.

The hat transformation...

I have been wanting one of these "so totally IN" hats as I like to call them. So, I finally found one with a price tag that didn't make me run away. I found it at Family Dollar of all places!!! It was only $3! I admit, I think the peace sign is kinda cute... but it's just NOT me. So, I did something to change that!:)
I bought some fake silk flowers at the dollar store (love that place!) and also bought some bagged tea. I boiled the tea and stuck a bunch of bright wight flowers in it and soaked it over night. The end result was a nice browned edge on the flowers, and kind of tainted. It was just the look I was going for! Then I popped a covered button in the middle and hot glued it to my hat!
Now it is much less "peace, man..." and much more ME! Whata ya think?
