Flower birthday cake

I made this cake for my Mom's birthday! I used a frosting recipe that I knew was not the best for cake decorating, but it was DELICIOUS! But I kinda like how it looks anyway:) I used cut up marshmallows for the flowers. I did the same thing with cupcakes a few years ago, you can see those adorable things HERE

A Lady Bug Baby Shower!

Lady bug cookies. I used chocolate chocolate chip cookies, and put red icing on in the shape of wings. Then I took a grasshopper mint cookie and stuck it on there for a head, smarties for the eyes, and chocolate frosting for the polka dots! They weren't only adorable, but delicious too!!
Here is a sample of the invitation I made:

Tausha

is expecting a little lady!

Come help us celebrate!

When: Saturday,

November 7, 2009

Where: Melanie's home

Time: 1:00pm

Due November 12

(On the actual invitation I made, there was a REALLY cute border of Anne Geddes babies in Lady Bug costumes- but it won't upload on my blog! Sorry!)

Although we planned out the baby shower, my friend had her baby the same day as the shower, so we didn't go through with it. But, I was planning on getting red balloons, and painting black polka dots on them to decorate with.

And the gift I gave her was this:

pink and black polka dot nursing cover... and this cute wipes case that I made, with lady bugs all over it!:)

Homemade Halloween Treats!

I started with a chocolate pretzel mold kit that I got at Wal Mart. And it didn't come with long pretzels, so I had to hunt them down, and I finally found them at the dollar store! I took each pretzel, and wrapped a caramel apple wrap around it, so that when you bite into it, there is a layer of chocolate, caramel, and pretzel! MMMM!
They took a really long time to make, but they turned out cute, and my friends and family loved them:) So did I!

Candy & Fruit Kabobs

I love me a good kabob! And what is better than chocolate and strawberries? I think these would be so cute for a shower or party, if you put them in a pretty jar or pitcher!

Strawberry Freezer Jam

If you have never done this, you gotta! It's sooo delish, and sooo easy! It only take like 15 minutes!
What ya need to buy:
A couple packages of strawberrys- it takes about 1 and a half.
Sugar! Lots of it.
Fruit pectin.
Mash up those strawberrys, or crush them up in a blender. Then you will cook the fruit pectin, stir that together with the strawberries, and sugar, and that's it!! Put them in cute little freezer jam jars, and you are done! So easy!

Father's Day presents...there's always next year, right?

For Fathers Day this year, I gave my Dad, and my Father in Law an apron, 6 pack of ROOT beer, some yummy chocolates, and a scrapbook card. Since the guy on the apron is on fire, and has bottles all around him, I think it's safe to say that he is intoxicated. So I had to improvize for my Dads. Root beer it is!

I got these cute scrapbook card kits at the dollar store, and they are really cool! They slide out into three pages, and they even came with an envelope and an easel!

Flower cupcakes!

I ADORE these cupcakes that I made a while back! They are SO easy, yet so dang cute! All I did was buy some large pink marshmallows and skittles, then I frosted my cupcakes with pink frosting, and cut the marshmallows into skinny slices with SCISSORS. (If you cut it with a knife, you won't get the petal shape). Then pop a skittle, berry, or any candy in the middle, and there you have it! Lovely!

Baby Cakes!

I made this cake for my friend's baby shower. And that same day, I found out that I AM PREGNANT!!! What are the odds!? With the way I am feeling, I think I am having a girl...I can't keep anything down! I think this must be what Hell is like. Laying by a toilet all day and night, puking...
