This was the center piece I made. The cupcakes were SCRUMPTIOUS!!! White chocolate mousse cupcakes, made by yours truly! And we put maternity pictures that I took of my sister in law around the table! I made this bow holder for my sister-in-law. I just took apart an old frame that I had and then glued ribbon to the back, and then you can clip bows right onto it! Easy Peasy! And here it is with all the stuff to make bows with for her shower... I mean SPRINKLE! We had a "sprinkle" instead of a shower, cause this was her third baby, but her first GIRL! So she didn't need all the usual baby stuff, but she did need to be "sprinkled" with some girl stuff! :) Everyone made bows for the baby, ate yummy food, and had a fun time "oooing" and "awwing" over all the adorable baby girl clothes:)
My sister in law, Amy, gave me this cute blanket when I had Owen. I just love it. I have made similar projects in the past by embroidering a tag and then sewing it on a ready made blanket, but I really love how she embroidered a little dog on there too, with his name. I just had to take some pictures of my super cute boy with his blanky! My little Owen Cooper:)
My little two year old LOVES stickers. It is his very favorite thing to play with. And Mommy's scrapbook stickers are his preferred choice, of coarse. While we were in the hospital with my 6 week old, the nurse gave my two year old some stickers to play with while he visited. He couldn't have been happier!! The best place to stick them is in the hair. Or on the face. Or all over the house.
I think that this is one of the most essential things for babies:) It's a scrapbook/ baby's first year calendar, and I just LOVE it! I had one for my first son also. I love it because I don't have time to scrapbook every single memory during my baby's first year, so as the month rolls along, I jot down memories, experience, my baby's stats (weight, height, etc.), and milestones. It's the perfect way to remember that first year! Plus it's super cute, and has places to put pictures of them as they grow! I got mine at Seagull Book. But I have also made my own in the past for presents to give at showers.
This is just a little decoration I made for my friend's little baby girl! I got the wood letter at Robert's, and painted it, then cut out the vinyl on my cricut, and tied some ribbons around it to match her room!
Obviously I haven't finished this, but I love the idea of it. I love looking at it and seeing how much my baby boy changed each month during his first year. I still need to fill in a few months though!:) But I changed this frame up a bit. It was a baby blue color, and it didn't match his room, so I mod podged some scrapbook paper onto it, touched it up with paint, and now it matches his fisherman room perfectly!:)
My two year old thinks he is pretty funny...but I think he is too:) I seriously can't live without these binky clips that I made! They are SO convenient! I love them mostly because you don't have to worry about the binky falling on the floor, or losing it. It's always attached to the babe! Awesome!
I hope it's not too girly, but I made this blanky for my little one who will be here any day now! (I'm HUGE!) I used some of my favorite colors and fabrics. I love the backing I used. It's a minky fabric, with embossed hearts. I'm happy with how it turned out, especially since I just decided to make it randomly one night!:)
Lady bug cookies. I used chocolate chocolate chip cookies, and put red icing on in the shape of wings. Then I took a grasshopper mint cookie and stuck it on there for a head, smarties for the eyes, and chocolate frosting for the polka dots! They weren't only adorable, but delicious too!!
Here is a sample of the invitation I made:
Tausha
is expecting a little lady!
Come help us celebrate!
When: Saturday,
November 7, 2009
Where: Melanie's home
Time: 1:00pm
Due November 12
(On the actual invitation I made, there was a REALLY cute border of Anne Geddes babies in Lady Bug costumes- but it won't upload on my blog! Sorry!)
Although we planned out the baby shower, my friend had her baby the same day as the shower, so we didn't go through with it. But, I was planning on getting red balloons, and painting black polka dots on them to decorate with.
And the gift I gave her was this:
pink and black polka dot nursing cover... and this cute wipes case that I made, with lady bugs all over it!:)

Well, as I have mentioned before, I totally thought I was pregnant with a girl. Wrongo. It's a boy- and we are SO happy! But, I made a girly car seat canopy- without a pattern, and it turned out ok. But then I made a boyish/neutral one...
Here is the one I did without a clue how to make one. I just saw a picture of one and got to work. Looks ok on top- but it was way too big. And here is the one I made for my boy:) I love the green and brown fabric, and I really love the liner I put in it- it's super soft minky hearts! Much improved from the first, I think. It fits perfectly, and I even rounded the corners on this one! AND put a liner in it, so it's reversible! I read a couple tutorials to get me started with this one, and it helped a lot! You can find one of them here- at While They Sleep. Mine is a bit different, but this will totally help you, if you are venturing to make one of your own!!
The profile The little feet:) And the proof. His little face. This morning, Car, my Mom, and I went to my ultrasound! I invited my Mom cause I know she only had an ultrasound with my youngest brother, almost 17 years ago! So I knew she would love it. (And she did:) But the tech told us each bone and organ in the baby's body, before she revealed the sex. I kept seeing a little somethin somethin when she would skim past the bum, and my first thought was "that cannot be what I think it is!" Car, and I were totally convinced that we were having a GIRL! No, not because of the home gender test, but because this pregnancy has been SO much different. I have been SO sick, and SO emotional. Everyone kept saying "it's cause you are having a girl". So we really didn't think there was any other possibility. But WRONGO! This little goober of a boy has been making his mommy sick, and crazy! lol All we could do was laugh when they said it was a boy- laugh at the fact that we were ALL SO wrong!! I have to admit that I thought I would be disappointed if it was a boy, but as everyone says- your true feelings show through when you actually know what you are having. And all I feel is EXCITEMENT! I can't wait to meet this little dude, and see how much different or alike he is to Charlie! His little ultrasound pictures don't look like Charlie's at all really! (they aren't very clear though, either). Anyway, we are so so excited! And we will be naming him OWEN:) That is another good thing about having a boy. We were dead set on a boy name, but we kept going back and forth on our girl names. I have always loved the name Owen, and it just makes me smile every time I hear it. Just like the name Charlie:) Another reason I love this name, is because one of my favorite books of all time is "Owen". It is about a little mouse that has a blankie and carries it everywhere! If you know me at all, you know that I STILL have a blankie that I rub the corners off of! I have had only 3 blankies in my lifetime, but two of them sadly are in their grave in my cedar chest because they are just rags. I love the cute story, AND the adorable name!! We will be meeting this little guy sometime around New Years!! And I can't wait!:)
