The Black and White Wall

I am posting two pics of the same thing cause the flash is right on my baby's face in the first one... But anyway, these are the pictures I took of my boys, and I blew them up and framed them... Someday I want to put these on a red wall....
I painted all the frames black so they would match

12 months baby picture frame

Obviously I haven't finished this, but I love the idea of it. I love looking at it and seeing how much my baby boy changed each month during his first year. I still need to fill in a few months though!:) But I changed this frame up a bit. It was a baby blue color, and it didn't match his room, so I mod podged some scrapbook paper onto it, touched it up with paint, and now it matches his fisherman room perfectly!:)

Tribute to my Mom!

This picture is of my Mom as a little baby, being held by her grandfather. Amazing!
And again, this is my Mom as a baby, being held by her other grandfather. I love it!!
For mothers day this year, I decided to get some pictures of my Mom's childhood- the two above, and blow them up and frame them for her! Such a simple, yet very meaningful gift. My Mom is so great! She raised 6 kids (I'm the 4th), is a dedicated member of the Church, and is admired by many for the person she is. She is so talented also. Check out just a few of the quilts she has made, and documented on her quilting blog.
I love you, Mom! Happy Mothers Day!!
This picture is of the St. George LDS Temple. I love this picture for many reasons. My Mom's father took this picture on his honeymoon, but since I never met him (because he died before I was born), this picture says a thousand words to me- about him, about his faith, and about what he would have taught me, if I would have been able to meet him. I blew it up and it now hangs in my bedroom. I know this picture probably speaks a million words to my Mom as well, since it was taken by her father!

Collage Frame Makeover!

I got this old ugly collage frame at the DI for $4! Another...steal! I told my husband I only bought it for all the pictures of that hot 80's model, though:) It was missing some of the glass, and it had chips and scratches all over it, so what did I do?? MAKEOVER!! And I always catch myself going with really neutral colors, so this time I headed out to the "Re-Store" (home improvement outlet), and got some fun paints! I got them for 50cents a pint!! Wow! I got some other killer deals there too, but I will tell ya'll about those later.
BEFORE

AFTER!! Since it was missing glass, I painted some stars with a dusty light pink color and tied them in the slots that I couldn't put pictures in. I also had these 5x7 pictures of my little guy that I had taken so I popped those in there, and I love how it turned out!:)
Total cost: $5!!

Hanging Picture Frames with Lettering

So I saw this idea at the last boutique I was in, and theirs were the letters that spelled out family. But they wanted $10 each frame!! So I decided to make my own with some frames I had laying around. Like I said, I don't have a vinyl cutter, so I had to improvize. Let me tell you, if you have a vinyl cutter, things are so much easier!!! I got on the computer and printed out the letters in a word document. Then I had to cut the letters out with an exacto knife, and make a stencil out of them, then I painted the letters onto the glass. But, I think mine look just as good as vinyl would have! :)

Paper-Covered Frames

I bought these wood frames at the D.I. (yep, I'm a D.I. junkie), and then came home and mod podged some scrapbook paper to them that says "Family" all over it, and then I just tied some hemp string around them, and put some adorable pics of Charlie in them!
Here they are, next to our bed.
I bought this one from the D.I. too, but at a different time than the top two, but I did the same thing with this one.

Scrapbook Frames

I love these! It is kind of hard to see the top one, but I basically just peiced together a "paper quilt", then mod podged it on, put some vinyl letters on it, an ADORABLE picture of my sweet baby boy, and some embellished ribbons. Then I put them in these great frames!
