Birthday Cakes!

This first cake I made, was for my Mom's birthday! I started out with a two layer chocolate swirl cake with chocolate frosting, and and then put pirouette wafer sticks around the outside, toasted coconut marshmallows around the top, and crushed wafers for the center! Then I tied a bow around it, and voila!

This second cake, I made for my sister in law. She had a Harry Potter themed birthday party! It was rad! I realize that this is not one of my best looking cakes, but it sure gave me arthritis, putting each dot of frosting on for his hair!! He kind of looks like he belongs in the Jackson 5 with that fro! What can I say, character cakes are not my forte.

wow, those cakes all look amazing! Great job! Do you have a good fondent recipe, or do you buy it pre-made? I am going to "attempt" making Kaylee a cute cake with fondent for her birthday in April.
